$20,000 donated to help youth overcome educational barriers
Pathways to Education is thankful for Marner Assist Foundation’s support of Pathways students. Across Canada, the average high school dropout rate ranges from 7-13 per cent. However, in low-income communities, the average high school dropout rate can be 50 per cent or higher.
Working alongside the school system, Pathways makes a multi-year commitment to youth and their families. Through a network of staff, volunteers, and partners, the Pathways to Education Program is helping youth to overcome barriers that can stand in the way of education, delivering after-school tutoring, group and career mentoring, short- and long-term financial assistance, and one-on-one support from a staff member who encourage students and hold them accountable.
Thanks to a $20,000 gift from MAF, 20 students will be able to participate in the Pathways Program this year. Together, we’re all helping to create a future where all youth have an equal opportunity to graduate from high school and build the foundation for their future success. Thank you to MAF for your support!
