Through the countless efforts made from everyone involved in the The Marner All-Star Invitational in 2019, the Marner Assist Fund donated $17,000 to the SickKids Foundation.
2019 Marner All-Star Invitational
The Marner All-Star Invitational is a cornerstone for the Marner Assist Fund, and 2019 was no different. Showcasing current and former NHL, Canadian Olympian and other hockey players, the invitational raised funds and awareness for several children’s organizations, including SickKids Foundation, Muskoka Woods, Eabametoong First Nation, Helping Hands Jamaica Foundation, and Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Charities.
Rez Girls 64 Fundraiser
Mitchell Marner never took hockey for granted, so he was thrilled to pay his opportunity forward by supporting the Rez Girls 64 hockey program. Mitchell went beyond donations, getting on the ice with the girls and bringing them to their first-ever professional hockey game as his special guests.
SickKids Foundation
The SickKids Foundation is fighting every day to make every child a healthy child. In 2018, the Marner Assist Fund was able to raise close to $20,000 for this worthy cause. The funds are being put towards toys, games and much-needed supplies for the family spaces at the hospital. We’re delighted that families can spend time together enjoying all the activities offered in Marnie’s Lounge and other play areas.
Muskoka Woods Youth Foundation
Everyone deserves a chance, especially our youth. The Muskoka Woods Youth Foundation joins young people on their journey and helps set them on the right path. Its funds support meaningful partnerships, bursaries and unforgettable summer camp experiences for young people with financial or special needs. Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Foundation
Jumpstart believes every child should have a chance to take part in sport. This is a cause that is personal to Mitch Marner, and the Marner Assist Fund is thrilled to help kids from families in financial need to pursue their athletic passions.
Jumpstart’s commitment to communities means no child needs to stay on the sidelines.
2018 Marner All-Star Invitational
On July 26, 2018, Marner hit the ice with his NHL friends to raise money for children’s charities in our communities for the first time. The inaugural event included a Draft Night Party, team competition and a showcase of all the participating NHL players’ skills like Auston Matthews, Laura Stacey, Connor Brown and Zach Hyman. The event was presented by Intact Insurance, and sponsors included Canadian Tire, Redbull, Chevrolet, Okanagan Hockey and Molson Canadian.
Reena Foundation Receives $1.8 Billion Dollar Donation assisted by Marner
In July 2018, the Reena Foundation, a cause focused on providing community services and housing for vulnerable individuals, received a 1.8 billion dollar donation assisted by Mitchell Marner.
